Re: Motor install tips/suggestions ?
before you disconnect any connections....LABLE THEM so that you can ensure they go back to the same location.
ENSURE you use a back-up wrench on the motor studs to make sure the posts do not turn when tightening up the nuts. |

Re: Motor install tips/suggestions ?
Put some never-seize on the spline shaft before you go back with the new motor. If you don't want to muscle it in there, take the cover off above it and use a ratchet strap to pull it up into place.
Just to save you time, one of the wires on the motor and harness are not going to match. Just match black and white and the two that are left go together. My 3rd wires were green and red. |

Re: Motor install tips/suggestions ?
Transfer the spline bumper from the old motor to the new one as the new one probably doesn't come with one.
If you don't see one in the old motor, look again. Probably there but well camouflaged. |

Re: Motor install tips/suggestions ?
Install went smoothly. All the tips you guys provided were useful and saved me time. Hardest part was separating the motor from the spline. Just took some wiggling / jiggling and it came off.
Got it all buttoned up and drove it. Seems about the same as the stock motor but I hear it will get better as it loosens up with time / miles |
