Precedent back up buzzer
Anybody know how to unplug the darn thing? It was easy on my old DS but I can't seem to be able to get it.
Thanks |

Re: Precedent back up buzzer
Should be an Orange w/White wire going to it. Unplug it from the buzzer as that is the trigger wire from the controller. The Red is the Pos (+).

Re: Precedent back up buzzer
Put a piece of electrical tape over the hole in it. It still does the job without irritation.

Re: Precedent back up buzzer
Did you ever wonder why the OBC silences the backup alarm when the charger is plugged in? It's because the backup alarm is only rated for 48V. If you have replaced your charger with a DPI or other brands here is a way to silence your alarm. Also a caution. When your battery is charging and the voltage is up to 63 volts, put your cart in reverse. When 63v hits the backup alarm it should make funny noises for awhile and die. At least that's what happened to mine.

Re: Precedent back up buzzer
I have two big Aussie shepherds who rely on that buzzer to know when I'm coming back from feeding the horse... so they know it's time to go chase them!

Re: Precedent back up buzzer
seems obviously but....If you completely disconnect make sure that you double check you are in F or R before hitting gas. I can see a disaster happening. I have always lowered the sound but left it just a little so I know if I am in F or R after leaving the cart. If I didn't I'm sure there would be one time I would forget and put it through the garage wall!

Re: Precedent back up buzzer
3 screws hold the dash on. Remove them, drop the dash. The buzzer is on the right. (See photo below, this is the back side, so it is on the left)
I use my cart for deer hunting, and with the electrical tape covering the buzzer, it can still be heard from about 10’ away, but does not disturb wildlife or cart passengers. I don’t see a need to disconnect it, but it would be simple to do. Mine has been taped for about 2 years now. Would not go back to full volume, ever. |
