95 ezgo suddenly stopped, will not restart
cart has new batteries and cables.. has been running great.. had been riding just a few minutes and it lost power..will not restart.. jacked it up, moved switch back and forth between forward and reverse many times and can not get it to run..solenoid clicks and voltage is good on output side..replaced 4 post controller with a new 3 post and no difference..have 14 volts on black controller wire..white wire starts off at .5 volts and gradually increase to 1.6 volts when pedal is fully depressed..checking across M- and B+, starts off around 15 volts , as pedal is depressed it almost instantly jumps to about 38.. please help me troubleshoot this

Re: 95 ezgo suddenly stopped, will not restart
Measure from the controller's B- terminal to the controller's M- terminal.
You ought to get FULL battery pack voltage (38.2V if fully charged) when pedal is pushed just far enough to make solenoid click. If not, leave the negative test lead connected to the B- terminal and go looking for the missing voltage on the attached schematic with High current circuit highlighted. |

Re: 95 ezgo suddenly stopped, will not restart
Take the cables off and measure between A1 and A2 with an Ohmmeter. should be just a few Ohms or less. If it is higher, it might just need new brushes.
You'll have to pull the motor to replace brushes. A local motor shop can service it. |

Re: 95 ezgo suddenly stopped, will not restart
pulled the motor...smells a little bit burnt as electric motors sometimes do but not real bad... A1-A2 MEASURES ABOUT 80K OHMS...S1-S2 DEAD SHORT, 0 OHMS... what you think JohnnieB ??

Re: 95 ezgo suddenly stopped, will not restart
Hopefully, brushes. It's possible the internal wire(s) from the stud(s) are bad.
Open it up and see. Good explanations are in the Service Manuals. |
