got xct400 for ezgo pds cart. installed and got error code 1 green and 6 red flashes. chart shows stuck solenoid, pre charge failure. not sure whats going on.any ideas?

A couple of things come to mind with this. First, I would check to make sure that you do not have a welded solenoid. The quick way to check this would be to first, put your cart in tow and then disconnect the outgoing cable that goes from the solenoid to the B+ of the controller. Then using a volt meter, place your black negative lead on battery pack negative and red positive lead on the incoming lug of the solenoid (cable should be coming from battery). You should see battery pack voltage there. Next, move your red lead to the outgoing post of the solenoid (the one that you removed the cable from), you should not see any voltage on this post. If you do see voltage greater than around 2 volts, replace the solenoid.

The second possible issue would be a shorted motor feeding voltage back into the controller. You can check this by running a few ohms checks on the motor. see below. Hope this helps.

The Pre-charge failure error is triggered by the B+ voltage and KSI voltage differing more the 5V, or being exactly the same. A stuck solenoid being one, but not the only, possibility of the latter condition.

Measure the voltage on J1 Pins 4 and 5 while J1 is plugged into XCT, as well as the voltage on the XCT's B+ terminal.

When cart is ready to drive expect for pedal being pushed, the voltage on the XCT's B+ terminal ought to be >0V and <5V different than full battery pack voltage, which ought to be present on J1 Pins 4 and 5.
