Default Club car cowl t-nuts- do away with?!?

Cowl trim. I'm thinking of doing away with the t-nuts and just drilling through it. Then use nuts and bolts. Those t-nuts are "mildly" annoying, to say the least! I'm assuming they engineered it this way purely for aesthetic purposes. Anyone else done this? Is there some reason I am not thinking of, that makes this a bad idea?

Thanks. I was thinking either carriage bolts or button head bolts.

I figured there was no reason this was a bad idea. One of those moments where you think, I've got to be missing something here...

The key to those T-Nuts is to lube the channel of the cowl trim with WD-40, start each of the four T-Nuts on the sides of the car by hand just a thread or two, and slide the entire cowl trim down into place. As for the top two t-nuts, once you've pushed the cowl trim all the way down, just use a small screwdriver to slide the upper T-Nuts into place and start the bolts into them. Then you can install the cowl.

Even on my old '81 they were no problem.
