Is there a way to have my headlights off while the rest of the lights stay on ??? Thanks in advance.

Re: Turning off Head lights
yes a couple ways to do it
you need 2 switches one just for the headlights other for taillights/marker lights the other is a reducer keyed to turn on with cart and hooked up to all lights except your headlights headlights would be to an on/off switch from reducer BTW .. always the identify the cart brand, year and voltage |

That's the way I did it. Separate switches.

Re: Turning off Head lights
Or have a lever arm for your lights/horn/indicators. If your headlights have only one beam (i.e. no low beam/high beam) then you can connect all your lights to the high beam switch and just your side lights to the low beam switch (your indicators and horn would be connected as usual).
This way when you switch your lights on with the arm in the low beam position, only the side lights/tail lights come on but when you switch to the high beam position, sidelights/tail lights and headlights are on. That's the way I have mine hooked up and here's a picture of my switch in place. My switch also has a "flash headlights" position (as you pull the lever towards you) and I have that hooked up to "all lights". I could have done the headlights only but it was easier to just flash everything (same hookup as the high beam position). |

Re: Turning off Head lights
A '57 is SUPPOSED to have a chromed pull type headlight switch and a FLOOR dimmer. Not sure that in '57 they were too concerned with lighting up the dirt UNDER the car though,,,
