Square Tires On Club Car Precedent??
Driving feels like I have square tires. Bumpy ride at any speed. Tires seem ok. Can't see anything in front end amiss. Keep it greased. Can anyone suggest where I need to start looking. Thanks for your help.

Re: Square Tires On Club Car Precedent??
Did it just start or has it been that way?
Has the cart been parked for a long period of time and just recently used again? |

Been that way since I bought it used 2 years ago. It does sit more that it's driven.

Re: Square Tires On Club Car Precedent??
One thing is with bias tires are they sit for long periods and they develop flat spots that take long lengths (distances) or lots of heat to allow them to return to a true state (radials are worse). To test that, heavily over-inflate your tires and then take it for a ride. If it is better, it is the tires. If there is no difference, need to put it on jack stands and go thru the suspension inspecting all the bushings. They are most likely worn out and causing some of your bumpy ride. Not a bad job to replace them and can be done at home with a jack, stands, vise, hammer and punches, and misc hand tools.

Re: Square Tires On Club Car Precedent??
I’ve had tires with no tread, half tread half smooth, cut tread, chopped tread, over inflated or way under inflated and most of my carts sit in one place from October to April. They move about once every 5-6 weeks when I have time to pull them back into the shop to charge batteries.
The only time I’ve ever had a tire cause a vibration or rough ride is if it was literally flat (no air, tread collapsed into the tire) Or when one of our former maintenance crew tried to change a tire on one, and he put the lug nuts on backwards. The wheel was off center on the hub. Wobbled like a sonofa... I also had one several years ago that the brake drum had been installed improperly and the wheel torqued on with the drum crooked on the axle. That also made the wheel crooked. Dunno how long it had been that way but the tire was heavily worn in two places from riding around like that. |

Jack up the cart. Spin the wheels and watch the wheel when it spins. If it wobbles much you’ve got an issue with that wheel or tire.

X2 on the lug nuts on backwards. I just found another one on Thursday that the lug nuts were on backwards on one rear wheel and was making the cart shake at all speeds.

Re: Square Tires On Club Car Precedent??
I have had tires that look fine and ride like they are made of square concrete.
If you can, switch them out with a known good wheel/tire and see what you find out. |

Re: Square Tires On Club Car Precedent??
Had a DS pulling hard to the right. Could not find anything out of alignment. And it turned out to be a bad but fine looking tire. Tires can cause strange things to happen.
