Melex Throttle question 0-5K

I have an additional question concerning the 0-5K throttle. It only has two wires currently connected to the existing controller, but has a third left hanging. (It also has two wires for the micro-switch). If I check resistance across those two wires I get 0 ohms at pedal up, and it gradually goes to 5K ohms at about 3/4 throttle. I have an Alltrax controller ordered for updating my cart, and specified 0-5K ohms. If I push the throttle pedal all the way to the floor, I get about 7200ohms. Will that be a problem? Can I just make a mechanical adjustment to the pedal travel so that it maxes at 5000-5500 ohms and be OK?

The PB-6 throttle box itself has mechanical adjustment you can make to it. So don't go messing with the pedal itself, or it's linkage. The adjustment is pretty precise, and needs to be made in small adjustments, then checked. The 0-5k throttle is allowed to go somewhat above 5000 ohms with no problem, the controller will figure it out. 7200 might be a little too high, possibly causing "throttle high out of range" errors. Search for "adjusting PB-6 throttle", it only requires 2 screwdrivers.
