I also suggest avoiding high speed gears for more speed. It can very easily cause motor & controller overheating. (I can put it into thermal cutback within 5 minutes, by just stopping & accelerating repeatedly). |

Re: Bob Boyce Rocks!
Thanks for this info! Super helpful. Welp, moving over to classifieds.....”for sale, 2009 Rxv”......
Jk. I’ll sell this to a buddy between now and the new year and be on the lookout for a newer RXV with Curtis controller. Am I reading right to not buy anything pre-2012.5? If so, how do I know which 2012’s are ok? Will I get any better performance with an upgraded cable kit or should I not even bother? |

Re: Bob Boyce Rocks!
If you look under your seat, on the controller/passenger side, you will see a plastic cover with tow/run switch, then a aluminum cover with a sensor on it and slots cut in it. On a Curtis controller rxv, the metal portion will be powder coated black. Also, the front cover of a Curtis controller is black, not grey like a Danaher controller.

Re: Bob Boyce Rocks!
What year does the Curtis controller show up?
Also just refreshing the question on which cable set is good. Is 2/0 needed? |

Re: Bob Boyce Rocks!
2012.5 model year. I believe production switched over in Feb 2012. (So dealers wouldn't have seen any Curtis for a little while after that). 4 awg cables are ok, 2 awg is better.

Re: Bob Boyce Rocks!
Ok. Is it fair to assume I can’t just drop a Curtis controller into a 2009 or 2010?

Re: Bob Boyce Rocks!
09-10 is danaher controller. There is a conversion kit but new harness and not plug and play.
