Re: Club Car DS resistor cart.
Haha, I know they're 6v. 3 holes in each battery! I did replace a dude's 48v batteries with 36v once. They gave me all sorts of hell at the shop when I returned em 2 hours later.

Re: Club Car DS resistor cart.
Easy enough to tell the 36 and 48 volters apart. The 36ers have a 2 blade charge plug. 48ers have a round 3 pin plug.
All resistor carts were 36v (originally). |

Re: Club Car DS resistor cart.
On the two smaller terminals on the solenoid I got no reading, on the two larger ones I got full battery pack. 36v transistor cart with the two-blade charger plug.

Re: Club Car DS resistor cart.
If the cart is wired correctly it should not prevent the charger from working. The charge receptacle should be connected directly to the batteries. Is this the wiring diagram for the cart?

Re: Club Car DS resistor cart.
Sounds like You are just charging the other cart via the jump cables.
Put You voltmeter on pack positive and negative battery posts, measure the voltage before and as You plug the charger. I think You either have a totally dead battery or a bad connection between the batteries. I bad battery will not show up without a load, either charge or discharge. By the way, is this a Resistor or Controller model (You said both Resistor and Transistor)? |

Re: Club Car DS resistor cart.
Seems like a bad connection between two batteries. Corrosion inside a cable, or a badly corroded terminal/ corrosion between the cable end and terminal.
