No rev just fwd 2000 ds
I have a 2000 ds the newer version , car will only go fwd no rev. switched the orange and blue wire on back of switch and it worked in rev but not fwd. So I put in a new fwd rev switch, but still no rev.
I can hear the solenoid clicking. Any ideas. Thanks |

Re: No rev just fwd 2000 ds
It sounds like you lost 1/2 of the controller.
Good excuse for a new Alltrax |

Possible you have a bad connection somewhere and the switch is not getting full voltage. Check voltage on the center pin when you have it in Reverse selection and see if its below about 35v.

Its a 48 volt cart, I forgot to mention, also are you talking about the fwd rev switch?
I don't see a center pin? Thanks Also if its the controller is there a way to bypass it to find out??? |

Re: No rev just fwd 2000 ds
Probably a bad half-speed resistor. The rear-most micro switch on the back of the F&R switch is designed to carry the throttle signal through a resistor when the car is in the reverse position. When it's in the forward position the resistor is not a part of the circuit. The resistor is located in the wire loom just below the F&R switch. The black wire and the white wire on the micro switch in question run down into the wire loom. The black one runs through the resistor, the white one doesn't. After the resistor, they "Y" together and carry the throttle signal to the controller.
A simple bypass of the half speed resistor would tell you whether or not that was your issue. Un-plug all three wires from the micro switch. There should be a green on top, followed by the black, and the white. Use a small blade fuse to manually jump the green wire to the white wire. If the cart now runs in both directions, your resistor has failed. You can either replace the resistor or leave it bypassed. You just won't have the half-speed function in reverse. It'll have the same amount of power as the forward position. |
