Re: Alltrax XCT 500 amp is awesome
my 48 volt ds had a 36 volt CC motor in it . it last 4+ years after the controller install before I melted the S1 stud off of it . the stock solenoid lasted another 3 years before that crapped out .

Re: Alltrax XCT 500 amp is awesome
That is good to know. I know my motor gets hot but I do drive fast for extended periods doing some neighborhood cruising in the evenings.

Re: Alltrax XCT 500 amp is awesome
So I finally had a chance to ride today. I rode around 6 miles. At about 4 my cart would not go over 11 mph and had no torque. The motor felt very hot. Is it the motor or controller, your best guess? Batteries were still at 50.3v and everything else seemed normal. Just like it was almost in limp mode. However, letting it sit allowed me to go back into the 22 mph range. I am guessing the motor is very worn out? Worth taking it apart and replacing brushes and cleaning? I could just install the FSIP motor.

Yeah it’s overheating. Just get an aftermarket motor that can handle the high amperage.

Thanks Jake. I will get on it asap. Frustrating but I knew it was in the cards.

The motor is the last piece of the puzzle. Then you can unleash all 500 amps from the controller.

OK, I got an FSIP 48VSPEEDEY motor. Should do pretty well? Also, where do I get field maps and what settings are best in the Alltrax?
