Default Reducer to radio

I bought the Reliance Power Parts PowerBank 36V/48V-12V Voltage Converter for Golf Carts and Other 48 Volt / 36 Volt Applications. It has a wire for the radio memory. Can I just run the power off from that and the ground out of the reducer plug and cap the power wire out of the reducer plug. I got this reducer so I could run more 12v stuff

Yes, you should be able to do that and be just fine. Just make sure to fuse all of your accessories. A fuse block is a great way to keep the wiring nice and neat.

Oh no, I had to read that several times to understand your question. Jake may have better understood it, or I may be wrong to your inquiry, but if you are asking can you use the Blue (memory wire) as 12v Power and the Negative (ground) out of the reducer plug, then that would be a No-No. That Blue wire is a low voltage wire that is only designed to keep the memory (clock, channels, etc.) powered up while the key is off, which powers down the converter. It can not sustain the demand of the converter.

I totally misread the inquiry! I’m with you Nole, 12v powers should NOT be run off of that low amperage blue wire...

Perhaps somebody can explain this reducer to me.

For what he is trying to accomplish it seems he would need as is on most of these type: (5 wire)

Yellow: To pack pos.

Green: Trigger wire to cold side of key switch.

Black: To pack neg.

Red: 12v + output.

Blue: Constant 12 output for memory.

Use pack neg. - for neg.

Where is the 12v positive output on this reducer?

I wondered the same thing MoonCarter.

The other anomaly is that it says the Blue wire is low voltage. I think that should read low amperage because I would expect it to be 12V.

Now i don't feel too bad yawood.

If it's throwing you a curve, imagine how confused I am.

From the Pigtail coming out the reducer. It is a Blue 12v + and Black 12v - and yes, it is VERY confusing and is what threw Jake off and me too, until I read it 20 or so times and went over the pictures in unison...

You are correct. They usually read 11.5v - 12v, but they only have a small amount of current dedicated to that circuit.

I saw that on the paper but don't see it on the reducer. So, this reducer has 6 wires coming out of it?
