Default Stock motor with Alltrax 500

So, I ordered my Alltrax 500 from Scotty B last week for my 2016 CC. I plan on upgrading the motor down the road so for now I'm going to run the Alltrax at 400 AMPS. For anyone running this controller with the stock motor, what top speeds are you seeing? I have a 6" lift, 23" tires, rear seat and brand new Trojan 875's. Currently, I top out at 22.

Expect 22-23 on stock tires. Same speed expected on 400 as 500 amps.
Check tire air pressure. Brake drag ?
Check voltage at full speed. Lower voltage will net lower speed.

Thanks Scott. So with 23" tires? Also, is 400 AMPS the max the stock motor can take?

I just installed the 500 amp version and can get up to 23.5 with stock wheels and tires with rear seat and two adults and two kids.

We recently installed an XCT500 in an onward with the stock 23” tires and were hitting 27. It was supposedly preprogrammed to 400a.

Great to hear. That's my exact plan. Can't wait to get this installed.

We should expect the same speeds with a 400amp as a 500amp?
Can you please explain why anyone would choose a 500 amp controller then?
I'm thinking about upgrading my stock DS controller and could use more learnin'. Thanks.

Purchased my XCT48400A controller from Revolution/David Hicks several years ago for 2007 CC DS (6" lift 23" tires stock motor) and seriously can't remember if he put a field map in it custom or if it's just factory settings, but this week was my first time running it and felt like I could jump a coke can with the front tires on take out of the hole, so plenty of torque. It banged out 27 once but would cruise at 25-26 mph with no problem. I felt like the motor would be on fire when I got back home, but it was cool to the touch still.
