I am well aware that it does not have a lsd. That is why I want to find out if my axle is compatible with the ezgo lsd on amazon for 354 bucks. Do you know if that unit will fit? The description says it will fit a couple different axles from 1996-2004 or so.

The info in that pdf says that I do not have the axle numbers that are listed in the description of the ezgo lsd that are compatible so I guess I am out of luck on that one.

It says it fits 1997 to 2009 TXT.

The axle part numbers given later on define which gear ratios the axles have 12.44:1 and 14.79:1 respectively.

It ought to fit a 1997 TXT cart regardless of the drive system.

JohnnieB is correct.

I just put the limited slip from an RXV into a 2006 axle but, I had an axle date stamped 1995 off a Medalist DCS on the bench opened up too and it fit in that housing too with no problem. So long as the limit slip is part no. 614756 from EZGO.

More information on the whole procedure to do it I posted it on Facebook with pictures and info: https://www.facebook.com/groups/Golf...02408493365520

The one on the left is the limited slip from an EZGO (same-same as 614756) and the one on the right is from a TXT.

Cheers,
Greg

PS: It will also work on some Yamaha Dana Spicer rear ends too.

FWIW:

Below is what EZGO says the rear axle assembly part numbers listed for the the limited slip differential Amazon sells are supposed to fit.

Looks to me like the part will actually fit a broader range of carts than the Amazon ad says.

73500G01 -- 12.44:1 gears

Used on 1994-current E-Z-GO Electric Medalist, TXT, 2004-current Workhorse and MPT (Multi-Purpose Truck) 800
Rear Axle gear ratio 12.44:1

74612G01 -- 14.76:1 gears

This OEM Rear Axle was engineered for E-Z-GO and Cushman electric vehicles (14.76:1). This rear axle assembly fits TXT (2009+), Express (2012+), Shuttle models(2005-2012), Cushman Shuttle (2011+), ST Express, Hauler (2012+), MPT (2004-2012), Terrain, and more.

------------
If I still needed to climb 45° inclines with my cart, I'd probably latch onto one of those 614756 Limited Slip Differential Kits.
