Default Trouble Charging 48v EZGO TXT

I have a 2012 EZGO 48v TXT that does not appear to be charging correctly. I believed the old charger was the reason so I bought an Eagle Performance charger. I have had it on the charger for about 8 hours. The charger is a solid red indicating it is charging. The green light on the cart, by the charging plug is solid green, indicating a full charge. The 48v meter on the dash shows 4 notches (~25%) from the bottom and has not moved in 6 hours.

Before I bought the new charger, I tested the voltage at each battery and each was slightly above 8v. Testing across the entire bank read a little above 48v. I tested at the charging port and it was a little over 48v as well. Not sure what to think at this point.

The reason I believed the original OEM charger to be the problem, was when it was plugged in, it flashed 2 green lights. Meaning voltage error. I understand this to occur when the voltage drops below 36v. In measuring the voltage, it was a solid 48+v. To double check, I ran it up to the local golf course cart barn and plugged it in there. It immediately started charging. Conclusion..bad charger.

Thanks for sharing any opinions on this.

Default Re: Trouble Charging 48v EZGO TXT

Do yourself a favor, get a digital battery gauge so you’re not guessing the voltage.
At/around 48.5V you should be charging your batteries, my brand new pack is over 51V at full charge.
