Dead short? Can’t connect batteries
I have a 2006 ezgo txt PDS, that I bought in pieces. I tested the motor and it worked, then bought new Trojans to try and get it going. Wired them up in series and hooked up the negative side to the controller. When I go to hook up The positive side, it arcs violently.
I’m pretty handy with a meter, so can you knowledgeable folks tell me where to start? |

Is something turned on that is pulling electricity (voltage reducer?)

Not that I’m B aware of. It’s stripped right now, just motor, batteries, controller, and solenoid.

Re: Dead short? Can’t connect batteries
Does it have a Run / Tow switch. If so, make sure it is in tow.

Re: Dead short? Can’t connect batteries
Yes it does have Tow/Run. So put it in tow before hooking up? Then what?

Re: Dead short? Can’t connect batteries
Always place switch into tow when connecting batteries up and if the controller has been disconnected for a while, you will get sparks when reconnecting. The negative should be the last connection made! I'm a gas guy but I believe it may be down to capacitors in the controller drawing current momentarily.

Re: Dead short? Can’t connect batteries
Yep no arc this time. But, the cart does nothing. Should I start another thread to get help troubleshooting this? If not where should I start looking, the pedal?
