I've actually use to use a drag, but it had to be weighted down to work.

Got it.. You could also get a motor custom wound but would need a programmable controller to run it. I had one built years ago for a limo cart that I knew he was going to be crawling with it in parades so wound for slow speed and put a temp sensor in it that would shut it down if it got too hot.

^^^ Not a bad idea. I'll probably have to get a new motor anyways. Starting last week, I'd stop and get out, then it wouldn't move when I tried to go. Only way I found to get it to go was physically push the cart a couple of feet, hit the go pedal at the same time, and then it would go

Well that sounds like brushes but I am sure the controller isn’t happy either

I have heard about dual speed axles that you can buy, but I'm sure that will be expensive. The upgrades already mentioned would be the first thing to try, but if you can find one of those axles it would still be cheaper than buying a new sxs.

I’m afraid you’re probably right. So it seems the most popular combo’s are from Plum or DD?

Plum is a sponsor and some sponsors sell D&D as well as other motors. I ordered mine from EMP years ago because I couldn’t find what I needed at the time from a sponsor. I wanted the internal thermostat so if the motor got too hot it would drop out the activation circuit and shut down the cart.
