Default 08 rxv problems

2008 RXV
new batteries today, old style brake with the handle, when i turn the key on either rev or fwd, i hear what sounds like the brake releasing, when i step on the gas pedal, no movement however, i do hear what sounds like a motor spinning very faintly. does any of this ring a bell?
new brake on order.
another question: if i remove the brake will the cart move?
thanks

If you remove the brake from the motor you will be able roll your cart.

Check your voltage on the load side of the solenoid. Should be pack voltage, any less and the contacts are burnt and pitted.
