Default 1982 Yamaha G1 fuel issues

I have a 1982 G1 that I am having fuel issues with. I want to disconnect the oil tank and have the main tank hook directly to the fuel pump and into the carb. Cart has a brand new fuel pump on it and I have new fuel lines. Carb is an aftermarket Kien carb but I don't think that matters. Just need to know how to do it. If someone know of a schematic for me to follow it should be a piece of cake. I have a rough idea of how it should be but when I hook it up no fuel is drawn to the pump. I think someone had it all jacked up before my time with this cart. Could someone help. Thanks ahead of time for your time.

Go here: http://yamahagolfcar.com/partsandservice/ Click on "view parts catalog" and enter your info. It will give a breakdown of your entire cart.

Fuel line setup is straight forward: From the gastank to the pump inlet, pump outlet to the carb inlet. Pump pulse line goes to the crankcase. If your new pump is hooked up properly and not working, you may need to gravity feed some gas through it to "wet" the valves inside so they seal and pump properly.

Thanks Guys for the good words. I will put some gas in the pump and lines to get it primed. It's sometimes hard to make sense of things when by the time you get it someone has done it all wrong. I even took the cart to a service shop last year and they too had everything backwards. I will try, and follow your suggestions and see how it works. Thanks again.

Well I took all your advice and viola the cart is now oil tank free and running like a champ. It was so easy once I put your advice to work I feel like a chump for taking it to the professionals and getting ripped off. Thanks again guys and happy trails on all our carts.

If I had a dollar for everytime I trusted someone who was supposed to know what they were doing.Only to find that with some advice,I could do better.

I hear you. I guess expert uasually just means expert at B.S. I'm glad I found this forum. I had my golf cart going around the yard yesterday and It has never ran better. Also found out I was mixing the wrong type of oil as well as the ratio. Thanks to you all.
