Yamaha Golf Cart what year / type?

Not trying to be funny here, but I only know of G8-a's preduced from 1990-jf2-0/1991-jf2-1/1993-jf2-2/1993-jf2-3 and 1994-jf2-4. Could your jf2-8 really be a 3 ?

Acording to the chart I looked at jf2-00000001 up to 09999999 is 1990, jf2-10000000 up to 199999999 =1991 and so on . 94 is the last year of jf2prefix and numbers above -40000000 are 94`s.Personally I`ve only used this info 3 times and it was correct all 3 times. Nothing is for sure with golf carts it seems like.You may have something there also. That is probally a 3 8 doesn`t make sense . jf2`s quit at 4000000 and they surely didn`t make that many in a year.

I also thought it was a 3, but after cleaning it and using a trouble light it is an 8. That is really what had me messed up. I couldn't find anything for Yamahas that have an 8 after the first 3 digit type. I even checked electric carts.

Well, We know that jf2`s are 90 to 94 and G8`s so I would think just about any parts for that series would likely fit. I`sure there are some cosmetic differences.But no major mechanical changes went down in that time frame.That I`m aware of.

Sure! My neighbor is getting it street legal and to get it inspected by police, he wants to make sure he has the correct type and year. With everyones help on this site, I'm pretty sure it's a 94, and I know for sure it's a G8. He is a very honest person and when he sells it, he wants to make sure he doesn't lie to anyone or he won't sell it. Thanks for everyones help!!!

Where on the lake are you. We have a trailer at Logan`s landing on 235 at turkey foot rd. Mabe we can get together this summer.

We live on Oakwood Ave. off of Ash Ave. Ash is the road that goes to the Moose and Eagles.
