B&S manufactures Vanguard engines in Japan at Daihatsu Briggs & Stratton (DBS), a 50/50 joint venture that B&S entered into in the late 80's. That plant manufactures 18 to 36 HP Vanguard twins. Daihatsu is a member of the Toyota group.
