02 ds cc gas wont start
Just got a gas CC DS from a buddy. Battery needed charging at first. Cart ran after that. Then, cart would only run/start in reverse. Yes, reverse waning horn sounds. I messed with the yellow maint switch behind the F&R, Now, cant get it to start in F or R. I've tried every position of that switch now and nothing. Load tested battery and it is holding up. What do I check next?

not real familar with the 02's but maybe your mirco switches are bad. Will the motor turn over but not start or does it not even turn over? Maybe solenoid is going bad - try jumping it and see if it turns over.

The cart does not turn over at all. I get nothing. so that why I'm thinking it's electrical....
Other than micro switch, anyone have any other suggestions? |

Very silly question. You said you "messed with the yellow maint switch" and now it wont start in F or R. Have you tried it in neutral?

jump the solenoid and see if it turns over or check the fuse as LOCKMAN suggested

It will not start in nuetral either. As for the fuse, can you direct me to the location or show me pics of location? This is first gas cart that I have looked under the seat at. As for solonoid, can you give me a proceedure for jumping that?

The fuse panel should be located in the black box that holds the micro switches, throttle cable arm, and solenoid. I believe all the fuses are 10amp. There are four slots as seen in the pics below. just underneath the solenoid. Pull each one and make sure they are good. Take a screw driver, wrench, or wire and jump the two larger posts on the solenoid (see pic) and that will engage the starter generator and should turn the motor over. It may not start depending upon your issue but the motor should turn over if your starter generator is good.

Jumped the solinoid: Working! Pulled several fuses: Found a bad 15 amp, coming off the pos term of battery! Forward gear Microswitch does not fully activate when lever in fwd position. *********** Replaced fuse and slightly bent the arm of the microswitch to get a better connection. All seems to be working now!!! Thanks for all the suggestions!!!  |
