Re: D&D Motor Under Performing
I am running 2 DD Torque motors on my 4x4 cart, they are rated per name plate as 36volt motors. I ran them at 48 volts, The same as the maker of my car,t and was disappointed to say the least. Since I made the switch to 72 volts I have been much happier, I see top speeds of thirty MPH and have had to dial back the throttle ramp up setting to make it pleasant to drive.
For the record my other cart has a PQ motor that will do over 40 mph and still has tons of torque. I can not really pick one or the other, Volts = speed, if you want speed and someone tells you it can't be done add 12 - 24 volts and you will be happy! |
