EZ-go Textron 20484
I have a 20484 charger that is not doing anything. No hum or nothing when hooked up. I have continuity tested the leads, fuse and timer. I just grounded an lead and checked the diodes. The relay is sealed so how can I jump it? Thanks Michael

I am only an observer not a pro.But my understanding of chargers is they will not start charging if your pack voltage is to low. What is your pack voltage?

Re: EZ-go Textron 20484
You have an original Total-Charge (aka Total-Charge I - was retro named when TC-II came out.)
To bypass the relay, connect the black wire from the fuse to the yellow wire that goes to the timer. Or if it is long enough, just run the black wire to the timer. Here is a wiring diagram for it. I don't have a schematic, but all the ferroresonant transformer type chargers work the same. What is the pack voltage? It has to be upwards of 30V for the rely to click. |

Re: EZ-go Textron 20484
Cart has been sitting for long time and the pack is dead (2volt). Should I disconnect and charge one at a time, is that the best way? Thanks

Re: EZ-go Textron 20484
The batteries are more than likely boat anchors, but trying to charge the one at a time with a 6V charger or two at a time with a 12V charger, would be better than bypassing the relay in the 36V charger. They do not have to be disconnected.
