So I was a little off when I said I saw 18mph with gps app on my phone. I saw 18 but realized today (only the second time using the app) that it was km/h... So I was doing under 12mph lol. It was in my back field which is not totally smooth so it felt fast. Today on pavement I saw an honest 12mph (batteries almost fully charged but they are 4 years old). I'm not sure how well previous owner maintained. My using and constantly charging has helped them quite a bit. I would see 50.2 12 hours after charger cut off when I first bought the cart. Now I see 50.8 after 12 hours after charger cuts off. These batteries give me all the run time I need, but I will prolly replace them before next summer.

Today, with fully charged batteries, I saw 14mph with the same phone app. We are at a campground with nice paved roads.... But that's all she's got. Good enough for now/what I do...

Before our next camping trip I need some lights. Plan to go led. I don't like the oem/stock front headlight bucket look. Does anybody have some other setups that can post pics?

I have seen carts with 24" led light bar mounted to the bottom of the roof at the front edge, the look was pretty cool and the light was awesome. As far as your speed goes 14 will probably be about it on a stock motor, you can easily get 20 to 23 with a Plumquick bandit and stock controller. I sent my controller to flightsystems and had it upgraded to 400amp and get 23 to 25 with the bandit motor and a lot better torque.

Default 2001 Club Car DS 48 Volt, Long Term Project

Thanks for the info. I'm going to look into led bars for some lights before our next outing. Hope to upgrade controller and motor next summer. It's enough power now but would like some extra just for giggles next camping season...

Hey Southco,

Cart is looking great. I just bought the same one two months ago.

I have a question about that roof. I just bought the same one in silver but I'm pretty sure they sent me the wrong rear roof rails. Can you tell me a little more about how you mounted that and if it anything had to be modified? I can send you pix of what they sent me if you need.

Thanks for your help.

I'm looking at same cart. Needs batteries but for $350 I can't say no.

Thanks Sean, sorry it took me so long to post these. I didn't modify anything. I bought some aluminum tubing (from Home Depot) and cut them to use for spaces for the rear. The DoubleTake roof came with a bracket to make the front work. Let me know if you need any more info.
