Since the most dense naturally occurring substance on Earth (Osmium) only has a specific gravity of 22.587, I suspect the numbers you posted ought to have a decimal point between the first and second digits from the left.

If the specific gravities listed are corrected to 80°F and they are Trojan batteries or clones, your battery's cells are charged from about 74% (1.225) to 84% (1.250), but a cell's ability to take or hold a charge and failing under load are two separate issues, or at least can be. Batteries with near perfect voltage and SG readings, which your batteries do not have, can fail under load.
