Electrical issue
2003 EZGO TXT PDS Had to put a new differential in. Now hen I press the accelerator pedal in reverse it cuts out if I floor it, however if I press easy its fine. Checked all the wires and everything is correct and tight..... NOt sure what the heck is going on.... Have NOT been able to perform a test on the solenoid yet. No problems at all in forward and no diagnostic codes given
Any suggestions? THANK YOU In advance |

Re: Electrical issue
If it works until the throttle is fully pressed, i would be looking at the throttle.

Re: Electrical issue
What would I look at with the throttle??? The micro switch is intact and everything is dry... Have no issues with forward at all and when I put it in reverse and floor it is the only time it cuts out The solenoid clicks and everything stops. If I ease on to the pedal in reverse then no problems at all

Re: Electrical issue
Since Forward works normally and only reverse misbehaves, your controller is on a death spiral towards the scrap heap.
Basically you have two choices, replace it now or replace it when it stops working completely. Actually, that is only one choice with different timing options. Replace it with an Alltrax XCT48400PDS and it will do about 24 MPH on stock height tires at 36V, but you can limit the max speed to something slower if so desired. The XCT is user programmable. |

Re: Electrical issue
Additional thought. The motor flexes the rear springs differently in reverse than it does in forward, so check for worn insulation on the F1/F2 wires as they are routed around the battery frame. If the insulation is worn through, they might be shorting out only when you accelerate hard in reverse.

Re: Electrical issue
he said his solenoid drops out in reverse when he stomps on the go pedal. I wonder if battery voltage is dropping under load combined with reduced power reverse feature .... dropping the contactor activation circuit below min. requirements.

On the other hand, Murphy's Law definitely apply to PDS controllers. |
