ezgo three wheeler motor replacement

Hey Guys, can someone help me, I have run into an ezgo three wheeler and I believe its a 79 model. I was told that the motor was bad. I do have a motor for a later year model cart mid 90's txt. will this motor work in the older cart. thanks for the help

you would need to verify a few things. are the motors compatible? are they both the same type....SERIES VS SEPEX. is the mounting bolt pattern the same? is the SPLINE in the motor the SAME as the input shaft.

if everything matches.....then YES it should work. if ANY of these don't match, then either you need to make them match, if you can, otherwise its a NO.

The newer motor will not match up.
You can pull your old style motor off and send it off for a restoration.
Or you can identify the spline and try to find a match. That would be a good first step.

Where are you located? I have 2 motors in central AL that would fit.
