Default Alltrax SPM600

Thinking about upgrading to Alltrax SPM600. From what I have read this controller will not mount where my Alltrax Axe 4855 mounts and the solenoid cannot be mounted on the controller. If you are running this set up how did you mount the controller and solenoid. Pictures would good if you have any showing the controller mount and solenoid.

Th SPM's are noticeably larger than the AXE controllers. The larger size allows the internal heat sinks to cool the controller better, plus the cooling fan helps. More options with the SPM software also.

The SPM's do have mounts for contactor/solenoids, it may not fit on your cart though.

What year and model EZGO do you have? It would help other to provide some input.

My cart is a '96 TXT. The SPM600 does not come with a built in mounting location for a solenoid like the 400 and 500 models. The SPM600 requires a custom mounting bracket and I am looking to see how others fabricated a mounting bracket.

Well I just had to run out to the garage to look at my SPM72 650, and your right the larger SPM controllers don't have the solenoid mounts. I was defiantly mistaken on that!

How is your set up mounted. Do you mind snapping a pic of your controller and solenoid?

I removed the stock controller mounting plate and added two pieces of angle aluminum. The two pieces were bolted on to the frame in a convenient spot. The SPM controller and Albright SW 202 contactor have the same mounting width, which is quite nice, you would almost think Alltrax planed it that way.

I kept the distance from the motor to the reversing contactor short to save on wire and resistance.

The photo above is from the first test. I re-routed the wires and cleaned it up a bit since then.

It probably won't help you much but might spark some mounting ideas.

Thanks for the pics. That is what I need to see. If anyone else has pictures of there setup I like to see how you mounted the SPM controller.

This is a 500 but any size can be mounted the same way. I added a cross member there to bolt controller and solenoid to.
