Re: Need advice troubleshooting 1993 EZGO Marathon
Been running through the troubleshooting checklist. Seems to indicate that the controller might be bad. Don't know about the motor. Can I test the motor without replacing the controller?

Re: Need advice troubleshooting 1993 EZGO Marathon
Okay. Solved my problem. Finally got the cart off the ground and on stands to access the motor and discovered that I had a bad cable. Actually a relief. Thanks to CT Dummy and ClemsonGuy for your help and a shout out to BGW for creating such a great resource.
But one more question. The reason I didn't spot the bad cable earlier was because it was hidden from view. When I got under the cart what I discovered is that there's a solenoid wired between two of the motor posts and just kinda hanging loose under the motor. (One of the cables off the solenoid was obscuring the broken cable.) I don't see anything like that in the schematics. Why would it be there? Is it some sort of mod? I left it there assuming there's a purpose but I'm curious as to what it is. Pic attached of solenoid with S1 cable disconnected. |

I was gonna say...uh oh! Someone had a "go fast" button wired on there!
Crash beat me to it. Pull all that out and just put a new solid wire in place. |
