Default Dcs body

I was having coffee with the old guy's that meet at micky ds. One of the guys said he had a new ezgo body in black, with no need for it. He didn't give a dollar amount for it but it has me thinking about my 95 medalist. Would the plastic body fit my cart? 2nd would I save that much weight changing the metal body. The metal body is in good shape. I painted it last year

According to EZGO, the metal body is only 5 lb heavier than the plastic body.

Oops - noticed you have a DCS - Added specs for DCS carts also.
Doesn't make any difference. Same weights listed.

I don't believe it - the metal body has got to be more than 5#s heavier.

Doesn't seem right to me either, but 550# for the TXT and 555# for the Medalist is what EZGO published.

They didn't actually give the body weights. Instead it is the cart weight without batteries with a plastic body and with a metal body. Maybe the plastic body has more (or heavier) framework supporting it.

I had one of the medalist bodies around - It was always in the way and I moved it several times finally tossing it out.....in my opinion it was quite a bit heavier than the plastic type.
Also performance on the metal body cart is slower than the same yr plastic body carts... by a couple of mph.
So I have no documentation but in my opinion... there may be a significant weight savings going to the newer body.

I changed mine because all the black plastic trim wss busted up, and you can't find them anywhere. Only for the marathon.

On another thread on here, I remember someone saying the metal body being 200 lbs heavier. I thought that was rediculas heavy. On the other hand, 5 lbs. also sounds alittle light. I would say the weight differnce would not be enough to make a noticable proformance change.

Mgrey70, did you notice any differnce in weight or preformance?

Very little. Like you said, not enough to really notice.
