Ok thank you cgtech. So the Danaher exhibits the same failure modes as the Curtis. I almost bought a new RXV when they first came out but I could not get my local dealer to order one for me. He only sells used carts and does repairs. He doesn't even have a showroom set up for new product displays. I'm glad I waited for the used 2012 now. I have a few oscilloscopes here, they sure come in handy.

yeah, that little one can even run off a 9v battery, my other one is not quite so portable. plus the little one was $18, so if it gets a little beat up no big deal. i had so much fun soldering than one up, i wouldnt care at all.

Good news !! it was the encoder sensor ( speed sensor) that was causing my issue. Thanks for the replies.
