2001 Club Car Solenoid has Constant Voltage
I have a 2001 Club Car regen II cart. The cart wasnt running or charging, wouldn't even make the reverse buzzing sound. I reset the OBC and it work for a couple days and then started doing the same thing again except when i tried to reset the OBC it wouldn't work. I bought a new OBC and the cart will charge now and reverse buzzer will sound but the cart wont move. When the carts in foward it will shutter for a half second and then wont do anything. I checked the solenoid and it constantly has 50V on both sides of the big terminals. So i figured the solenoid was bad. I replaced it. The solenoid still constantly has 50V on both sides of the terminals even after the new solenoid was installed. I even disconnected the blue and blue/white wires (+ and -) on the solenoid and still had 50V across the solenoid. Any ideas of whats going on. or any more tests that i can run. And just a little more info. I am getting full voltage as i should from red/white wire from solenoid to tow switch to key switch to v-glide into the controller.

Sounds like bad batteries.

Re: 2001 Club Car Solenoid has Constant Voltage
Are you getting the 50 volts, on both sides of the big solenoid terminals, without the resistor, or is the resistor on there when you are measuring?

Re: 2001 Club Car Solenoid has Constant Voltage
The Regen II controller did not use a pre-charge resistor, instead it used Pin #1 (red wire) on the controller 23-pin connector to keep the capacitors charged.
That pin gets its power from the OBC Blue wire. |

Im getting 50V on both terminals....the solenoid has a resistor that comes soldered on already.

Re: 2001 Club Car Solenoid has Constant Voltage
You mean a diode soldered on the small terminals right?

Re: 2001 Club Car Solenoid has Constant Voltage
sorry I never posted the solution...but the solenoid wasn't getting the negative out of the controller so I just ran a jumper wire to it and it ran great.
