Re: Make these wheels fit!
Telling ya, get those washers at the hardware store. Less then a buck and you get to use your dust caps.

Re: Make these wheels fit!
I understand now. A few washers may push the wheel out enough to put the cap on while also stabilizing the mount. Good thinking. I will get them this weekend and post the results. This must help others.

Re: Make these wheels fit!
I don't think it is smart or safe to do that with washers, especially if you have passengers on your golf car.
Spacers are pretty cheap, and a much safer way to use those wheels. The other alternative is to upgrade your hubs. Just my $.02 Aflyer |

Re: Make these wheels fit!
I like safety. I drive around my wife and now two kids. We go to the park here and drive 20 mph. With plenty of thread and a washer made of a limited corrosion material, what is the danger if it is under 1/4" to flush? I am only asking to learn.

Re: Make these wheels fit!
I think it's safe otherwise I would not have said it (I'm all about safety) but, it won't work. I took a look at a hub and there is not enough space from the stud to the center tower. The best you could do is grind the washers down on one side to paper thin. That then might not be safe or sensible. Oh well, it was worth a shot. Sorry.

Re: Make these wheels fit!
Hard to explain and I'm heading to bed, but before I go whatever you do don't over tighten those lugs trying to suck the rim down. Those hubs are cheap cheap cheap. I bought a DS and the front tire broke right off. I assume the prior owner over tightened the lugs and created microfractures in the cheap pot metal.
Take a look at the below thread of mine and note the pictures. If you did put a washer on the stud the distance between the stud and the sealed bearing must only be a 1/4 inch or so. Way to thin for my comfort level. Clicky of tire coming off |

Re: Make these wheels fit!
We had the same issue on a friends. Picked up two washers per stud and it fixed the problem. Poor mans spacers.
