Re: 48v wont go backwards
Does the vehicle have a resistor in the FNR switch for half speed reverse? It may be setting the throttle input out of range if it isn't within spec. This controller only has one set of throttle parameters.
Double check the throttle type setting to make sure it matches the type you have. Type 0 2-wire potentiometer, 0–5kΩ Type 1 2-wire potentiometer, 5kΩ–0 Type 2 single-ended 0–5V input Type 3 2-wire potentiometer, 4.6kΩ–0 Type 4 2-wire potentiometer, 5.5kΩ–0 Type 5 2-wire potentiometer, 1kΩ–0 Type 6 ITS input Type 7 single-ended 6.3–10.6 V input Type 8 single-ended 6–12 V input Type 9 single-ended 3-wire potentiometer, 0–5kΩ |

Re: 48v wont go backwards
It seems to me that on some of those old f/r switches for club cars, you need to add a bar or a jumper , maybe you are heating up the reverse wire because that jumper or bar is not there?

Re: 48v wont go backwards
I have it set for type 1 throttle and I believe all the bars are in place with the f/r switch i will have to double check that but i have checked all the wires they are not burnt nor do that look to have bad connections i have cleaned every connection at the motor and f/r switch and all the connections on the controller

Re: 48v wont go backwards
now i have reset the all the parameters to where you can feel the motor engage in both direction when pressing the accelerator but it wont move at all almost like it doesnt have enough power to move the cart and it is now throwing a 1204 main weld fault can anybody explain what that is please

Re: 48v wont go backwards
Code: 3,2
Fault: Main Weld Fault Action: PWM output and main contactor disabled Recovery: 1. Replace main contactor. 2. Correct the parameter Rev Input/Main Driver. Possible Cause: 1. Main contactor is welded. 2. Main contactor is controlled outside, but main driver function is active. Put simply the controller performs a check where it pusles the motor with the contactor open. It expects to see a voltage drop on the cap bank. If it does not you get this fault. This happens when either the controller is not able to change the state of the solenoid or it is actually stuck closed. Is your line contactor coil connected to a tab opposite to the key and throttle?Or hardwired to the pedal/key? Check this parameter: Rev Input / Main Driver 0 = reverse input and main driver both inactive; use this setting if you are replacing an earlier model with no J5 terminal and want to leave the wiring as it was. 1 = Reverse input active (connected to J5 tab) 2= Main driver active (connected to J5 tab) |

Re: 48v wont go backwards
i have no idea what contactor you are refering to but im going to set the rev input to 0 and see what happens

Re: 48v wont go backwards
There are likely three of them in the cart. One for Battery to controller and 2 more for direction going to the motor and controller.
What that setting is doing is asking what you are using that extra tab for. Rev input, solenoid driver, etc. The value of it depends on the cart wiring. If nothing is wired to that tab then it should be set to 0. If it is 1, its looking for a B+ to be delivered when the reverse direction is set, so if there is no connection it wont run in reverse. |

Re: 48v wont go backwards
ok thats what i thought i set it back to zero however it will not move in reverse still and this cart that im working on only has 1 solenoid its a heavy duty solenoid that i put on there cause the oem ones kept goin out about 1 every 3 months keep in mind that this cart gets used on a farm all day everyday so its had a pretty rough life out here and it doesnt get treated very well all the time but this is the first real issue we have had with it in about 2 years
