Default WOW never saw this

I think I need a new motor? What do you think ?
What would have caused this.? Anyone got a 48 volt motor?

It is caused by severely exceeding the maximum rpm for the motor.

The centrifugal force separated the armature wires from the commutator bars and they got caught in the brush assembly.

So. That's what a over revved looks like. I think it is a 2010 ds Scotty, you got one?

Great pictures. Any idea how your motor got over revved so other BGW members can avoid a similar problem? I am on the understanding that this could happen by free wheeling down hill at an unchecked speed, by over revving when the cart is on jack stands (during testing) or when wheels are spinning on mud or ice ... not sure if these three situations are actually valid causes of over revving but it would be interesting to find out your thoughts on your motor failure.
