06 Precedent Brake Install

Ok guys, ran into a little problem that some of you might can help me with. I am currently changing brakes on my 06 Precedent and besides a little cussing and throwing tools my passenger side went on well, Now for the issue, got all the drivers side done and now the hub will not slide on, I've done all the movement I can on the brakes and still nothing. I have the bottom self ratcheting screw down all the way and back a little to make sure its not too tight. Am I missing a screw to loosen something else up? I've included a few pics of the good side that the hub slid back on. I have also loosened up the cable off the brake pedal. Does the good side look right? and what else can I do to get a little more space between the hub and brakes.

For starters look at the information highlighted in the circle.

If I had to guess , you may have the wrong shoes in the wrong places.

There are only 2 things I know of that it can be and have had both of them bite me before. 1- the brake pedal is not fully released and there is tension pulling on the adjuster, or 2- star adjuster at the bottom has not fully collapsed allowing the needed room for the space of the new shoes.

I know you mentioned you have checked them already, but there is nothing else that it can be unless it is something like an oversized shoe or bent/flexed shoes which is out of geometry now.

Look at the space between the back plate lips on both sides with the shoes installed. If it is the same on the top and bottom and one sides fits on and one does not, then you have an issue with your drum. If the space is not the same, then you have an issue with the seld adjuster or tension cable not fully releasing.

Shoes are marked 17L and 17T. Hard to tell from your pictures, but the 17T should be facing the front of the cart when installed, and the 17L should be facing the rear of the cart. Markings on both the 17L and 17T go UP and not DOWN.

L and T ? Leading and Trailing? But the L shoe goes on the rear? Wait, what? lol

Also put a little bit of grease on the ends of the pad plates where they touch the metal on top and adjusting screw on the bottom. Insurance for no squeaking

Thanks, I might be more confused now about this leading and trailing. Is the one in the first pic right? Its got a 17T upside down closest to the front. That's hoe the old shoe was when I took it off. T's was both on passenger wheel and L's was on drivers side wheel. That pic I have on the drum fits perfect. When I get off in the morning I will put the drivers side back on and take more pics of he space between the shoes and the hubs

Been doing some reading on here and see that I might have both T's on one side and L's on the other. Know now that 1 of each on each side. The reason its sliding on is that I have the small shoes together and the large ones are where the hub wont go. Gonna work on that tomorrow. Thanks
