Default Best batteries for a starting cart.

The starting cart is used to start airplanes, also it will be used to power airplane electric systems while setting on ramp, keeping airplane a/c running in hot weather.

The voltages will be 12 volt and 24 volt.

They are currently using marine batteries. My thinking is that golf cart batteries would be better. Starting batteries would run down powering the plane setting on the ramp.

Just want to see what you guys think,

What kind of planes and ramp are you talking about?

Also, what type of cart are you talking about?

If they are using 12 volt Marine Deep Cycles and they have been generally working to satisfaction then I would say that series up 6 volt golf cart batteries would work very well in this application too... Sort of like folks who seriously boondock with their RV they take out the cheap 12 volt marine/RV battery and replace with dual 6 volt golf cart batteries...

OK, re-read post to understand it. You must be talking about real aircraft that people fly in.

DEAR GOD MAN. Please don't take any advice from anybody in here. At worst, a non-functional golf cart can mess up somebody's weekend, or round of golf.

If advice messes up an electrical system on aircraft that is serious. You need a certified aviation mechanic.

That answers my question.

The A&P is the one who most likely uses to power cart. (battery cart.) They are made for starting airplanes with run down batteries on small planes and to supply power to the larger planes while the are on the ground loading while the engine is not running, saving lots of jet fuel. The bigger airports have diesel engine generators that do the job

None taken as I knew that mrgolf was asking about nothing more complex than a 12 and/or 24 volt battery cart...
