Max Tire Size
I just picked up a 2008 Yamaha Drive (Gas) a couple weeks ago. It currently has 20-10-10 tires on it. The cart has a 3" Rhox spindle lift kit on it. Not what I would have put on it, but it's what it currently has. I actually don't mind the lift height, but I'd love to put some bigger tires on it. Everything I see online says this lift allows for a max 20.5" tire to be installed, but everything I physically see on the cart looks like it would easily accommodate 22" tires. What am I missing? Does anyone run 22's on a 3" Rhox lift? Has anyone tried?

Re: Max Tire Size
They usually hit the floor turning and the rocker in the rear. Lot of tires are different though some offroad atv are larger because of the tread, they are much larger than lawn tires for example. My 22 measure 23. The shape can also be different, some people fit 8 wide but not 10, all depends. But you can measure what you have and then have a good idea to compare other tires. My 22 I can just fit my fingers around the tire in back and I cut the rocker off, and similar in front if I turn wheel. And these are 3+5 offset wheels that moves them out, which you may already have.
Many yamaha they move the front arms forward to miss the floor, but I'm not real familiar with the drive. |

Re: Max Tire Size
Thanks for the reply Sho! Yeah, you’re right on tires being different sizes when labeled with same size. Last thing I want to do is drop a couple hundred dollars on tires that don’t fit. My dad has 22” tires on basically the same rims as mine on his cart. I might “borrow” one of his some time and place it on all four corners to see if I’ve got the clearance before ordering anything. That is unless someone else can chime in that actually has 22s on a Yamaha with 3” rhox lift.
I gave up my big block cart with 25” tires on a LT lift for this one. I’m ok with the lower cart and stock motor, but the small tires are killing me. Oh the things we do to keep the better half happy. [emoji16] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Max Tire Size
Oh ouch! So far she loves the cart but I've kept the stock starter/get and it operates like stock other than it now goes 41mph gps lol. I never go that fast but hit the road to find out the other day, on 22s. That is just a clone with worked head, vegas rod and cam, etc, and car muffler keeps it reasonable. But the drive is a real nice cart, other than the issues with the team clutches its a very nice ride and you can do stuff with it. I really need a newer cart here some day but working on replacing the cars right now, its always something.
