I appreciate all of the help! I fixed it, for the time being of course.

When my friend did the upgrades, he confused two wires. He had the B+ attached to solenoid and fnr instead of solenoid and A1 on motor. And had A1 attached to M-. I swapped the two and voila!

Real quickly I checked GPS. I got 22mph out of it on flat ground, 2 people, and stock tires. Is that about right?

If that controller has an A2 terminal and it is being used, it is imperative that the motor armature terminals are wired to Controller B+ and A2 terminals due to the plug diode between the terminals.

That is good speed for a Series motor.

It does have one and is being used. FNR to A2(controller) then A2 to A2 on motor. A1 on motor goes to B+ on controller and then B+ to solenoid. That’s how I have it right now. Correct? You lost me with your wording.

That is correct now, I was trying to convey that when the Controller has an A2 terminal, it is important to know where the plug diode is wired inside the Controller.
