Another “Cart slow after upgrades”
1995 Club Car DS 48V
Just added Alltrax SR48500 400 solenoid 23in tires Very slow. About 10 mph flat ground. 5 mph on hills. 5 yr old Trogan T875 49.6V total pack 5-batts are about 8.4V 1-batt about 7.4V As I drove up a steep hill the pack voltage dropped to 37V. Time for new batteries? Thanks |

Re: Another “Cart slow after upgrades”
Yes, time for batteries. You can change just the one that’s totally shot but the other 5 probably will die within the next 12 months. My neighbor just went through this and over 6 months he has now replaced the whole pack one battery at a time and they are all in different conditions at this point as a result. Best bet is to do the whole pack.

Re: Another “Cart slow after upgrades”
The general rule of thumb is the pack should drop no more than the value of one battery under maximum load.

Re: Another “Cart slow after upgrades”
Even replacing your batteries (which you need to do) won't make your cart much faster. You might gain 1-2 mph, but you'll need a new speed motor to noticeably increase your speed.

New batteries and an Admiral Mot 1, AMD BEAST, PQ, or a D&D built to specs will get you rolling. I have the AMD Beast and get 20+mph with tons of torque. Still contemplating the Admiral for more speed during the summer, AMD has proven itself to me as a Hunting Cart motor. Still fun to try other options

Definitely step one is to get your pack right.
