Default Custom Lights on DS

So I just bought an '02 Club Car DS gas in really clean and good condition. I'll be using it mostly as a campground run-a-bout so having lights is imperative.

On my other cart, ('66 HD Model D), I just johnny rigged some wiring direct from the battery to a single LED headlight and a pair of small LED tail lights. The on/off is a simple toggle switch on the dash. I installed an inline fuse just to be safe.

Do the same thing on my '02 Club Car DS gas? If anyone has any photos to share of their custom light installation I'd appreciate that too. Cheers!

I have a "regular" light kit on my DS, as well as a $20 12" light bar from Amazon. I've had several of these light bars on different toys, and for $20 you really cant beat it! The light bar is 10x brighter than the headlights are, and draws almost no current, few hundred mA as compared to a few amps for the regular headlights. Only benefit to the light kit is the tail lights. If I had to do it again I would have saved the hassle of cutting the headlight holes in the cowl and just went with the light bar.

my 08 has the basic light kit, when i tear it down and redo it i will replace with the LED light kit i saw on one of our sponsors.

that is what i plan to do since they SHOULD fit int eh existing location where the kit is , plus they are NOT expensive!!

Good info, that is exactly what I was hoping to hear: forget the factory headlight/cutting install and go straight to the LED bar.
