Default 36v metalist wont move

94 36v metalist had a lug burn up on the f/r panel a month or so ago. Has ran fine until two days ago. My son was riding it and it just quit. Solenoid clicks when pressing the pedal. All the voltage stuff checked out with it and the controller. Other than the fact my meter was reading 46-48 volts. Pretty sure it’s a meter issue. Would a a bad f/r switch cause it not to move at all? I have the same voltage a motor with the solenoid open. Pretty much stumped at this point. I’m leaning towards the f/r just because I know it got burnt some but has been fine for a month or better.

Check your meter first. We've seen a weak battery in the meter cause all sorts of bad diagnostics. If your battery is low replace that then go back and check your V. It may be a very different story.

I'm betting on the F/R switch. All too often I've won that bet. They just aren't designed to handle the load. Instead of making the main board out of bakelite plastic they should mold them out of porcelain that won't melt.

Would I need the whole switch or could I get by with just new studs and the cam switch?

you would have to take it apart and see how bad it is if anything's melted or not to answer that question
