Default move gas tank?

Do you guys think i will have a fuel problem if i move the gas tank to the front of the cart?? Do you think the fuel pump will pull fuel that far? Oh guess i should explain a little. Its a g1. I am building a mini street rod. in order to fit the 17" rims on i will have to move the tank, or find a smaller one. now that the front has been extended there is plenty of room up there for the tank.

Welcome to BGW Curt.

If the stock pump won't work you could use an electric fuel pump.

Yes!! We need pics!!!

It will work if you move the fuel pump to the front with the tank, they are more of a pusher than a puller pump.
Also run a hard line (1/4 steel fuel line) from the engine up to the fuel pump with a short piece of rubber hose on each end to connect it to the pump and motor fittings.
This will reduce the amount of pulse loss in that length of run compared to if it was all rubber.

Excellant help Crash. Curt, you should be fine fitting the tank /fuel pump in this configuration. If you do need an electric pump, as I recall...3 lbs or less. More build pic's please.

And from what I've read, but not done, a fuel return loop to the tank is probably going to be needed.

That will be a blast when its done. Are the big wheels stuck on the old tires for mock up,
will you be using hub adapters?
