Default G9 and 1 quart of oil.....?

I recently changed the oil in a G9 belonging to a friend. The oil fill cap reads "1 quart / 1000cc". When I fill with 1000cc, the oil doesn't show on the dipstick..... What gives....?

Thanks,
Bill

1 quart only. My dip stick would reach, but just barely. If you add more oil you will have other problems. Use a clean screw driver to see where the level is compared to the dip stick and add an extension as required.

1000 cc is 1 liter and that's more than a quart

Thanks....I've lurked for awhile and thought I better join..:) Seems to be a very informative group.

If I were to insert a rod through the dip stick hole and touch the bottom of the crankcase, how much oil should show on the rod....if filled with one litre?

Yes you are correct there but we are talking about a US quart and a US gallon not the English imperial gallon.
