Default how do i check a voltage regulator

my 91 cart is not charging the battery. a local company checked the starter/generator-said it was fine. i would like to know what the yellow and red wires on the voltage regulator should be reading. any advice would be helpful. thanks

I have a manual for this year of cart, but alas, it doesn't say what those wires should test at in terms of voltage. Interestingly though, it does say that these voltage regulators are adjustable as far as voltage output. It also says the voltage regulator should output 14.5 to 15.5 volts at 2750 to 2850 RPM.

Try adjusting regulator and see if voltage increases. Clockwise increases voltage, counterclockwise is lower. Screw is on right side when looking at the side where all the wires connect.(inside cover) Take note of original position though so you can put it back if it doesn't help.
