Default Re: 20 MPH out of a rebuilt KF82 possible?

Thanks for all the help guys, my snowmobile has gotten almost no use this winter but now I am addicted golf carts! Going to order a motor from Max tools or Home Depot tomorow. If I leave the govenor on the clone will it retain close to stock speed? Thanks Jason

I'd pull the govenor off the motor and just use the rear end one. That way vehicle speed is maintained instead of just RPM. I actually like the way CC's govenor works on the rear end and I usually just adjust them and leave them in place. The engines seem so much happier that way.

Nice build KrazyMatt, Mine is knocking slightly right now so I am probably going to go with a clone. I would like to at least check the crankshaft on mine to see if I were to get lucky and just need a rod. Usually my kind of "lucky" involves bodily injury or my stuff getting smashed tho. Thanks Jason
