Newbie with a couple of questions
We just bought our first golf cart for running around the neighborhood. the guy at the American Golf Carts in Dallas told me it is a 2009. I believe its a PDS (it has stickers that say Precision Drive Systems on each side of the cart). It is a 36 volt with 6 brand new batteries. it is a 4 seater with full canopy, it also has head lights and tail lights. other than that i know nothing else about it
1st Question, i was wondering how can i tell for sure what year it is? the passenger side glove box has these numbers in it: Serial 841192 & 09m94 2nd Question, How do i get more speed on out of this thing? 3rd Question, up a slight grade it looses a lot of power/speed. What can i do to give it more power? Let the upgrades begin! thanks for any responses, and i'm sure i'll have a bunch more in the future! |

Re: Newbie with a couple of questions
Welcome to BGW!
Check the manufacture code again. It should end in 09 not 94, perhaps it is 94m09? THe last 2 digits indicate the yr it was made. THe most common upgrade is a bigger speed control and cable upgrade for speeds up to 24mph and 35% more torque. See pkg#808 > http://cartsunlimited.net/Custom_Options.html |

Re: Newbie with a couple of questions
Serial no. indicates '94 Medalist Fleet so something is amiss. Can you describe the forward/reverse switch?

The shift is behind your knee, it is not a toggle/rocker switch

Re: Newbie with a couple of questions
Soooooo, electrically the cart is not a PDS. Question now is DCS or series. If there is a run/tow switch on the controller under the passenger side of the seat then the cart is a DCS. IF not, the cart is a series. It is important to know because upgrades are specific for the type of drive system.

Re: Newbie with a couple of questions
what does the switch look like? i don't believe there is such a switch. There is a long "linkage" arm coming form the f/r switch but dont see any kind of run/tow switch there.

You need upgrades for a series cart which include a controller/solenoid combo to deliver more amperage, bigger cables, and HD F&R switch to handle this increased amperage. |

Re: Newbie with a couple of questions
Okay, is that a good or bad thing? the cart is in very good shape but now i feel like i was dupped. the seats are in like new condition, it has all new batteries, body in good shape, tires in good shape.
what kind of upgrades can i do to this being that it is a Series drive system. |
