PDS with Freedom chip...Only hear 2 beeps meaning Steep Hill chip?
I have a 2008 EZ GO PDS. Bought a freedom chip. Wiring on freedom chip matches freedom chip diagram I have seen in other threads on this forum. Only hear 2 beeps when I toggle N to R 5 times. So I assume the step hill chip is what cart thinks it has?? Any thoughts?? I do not have a clue how many mph cart runs cause I have not hooked a GPS to it yet. I live on a hill and really can't tell any difference with chip or without chip.
Back up alarm did NOT work when I got cart. Wiring was hooked up so I bought a new back up alarm assuming alarm was bad. New alarm sounds very weak unless I put something in the hole. Then it is loud. I know this is opposite of what I have read on here about putting ear plug in hole to make it quieter. |

Two beeps means controller is in "Steep Hill" mode.
Put Run/Tow switch into Tow, pull the "Freedom Chip" and measure between the pins. Should be shorted between 1&5 and 2&3. While you've got the chip out, put Run/Tow switch into Run and put into diagnostic mode. How many beeps? Should be just one for "All Terrain" mode. Here's the J2 chart. |
